The Power-Package

Even if the wish will certainly not be realized, such a 156 as Alfa Romeo's contribution to the German DTM is surely the dream of many Alfisti. Prepared by the former Formula 1 racing-team owner Enzo Coloni, this 156-Maxiturismo could have good chances to prove its potential in the Spanish touring car championchip in 2001.

The 156 Maxiturismo uses Bernie Ecclestones' concept of a silhouette touring car of the eighties and transforms it into our time (see 164 ProCar - 164 ProCar - The story of a "unique" racing car)

Some technical details: 3 litre V6-engine developing 380 bhp (500 bhp are possible), glass fiber-chassis, Hewland-Coloni 6-speed sequential gearbox, driver in central position, Brembo carbon brake discs, 18 x 9,5" OZ magnesium wheels on the front axle and 18 x 11,5" wheels on the rear axle, diffusor, adjustable rear spoiler, Eibach-suspension. The costs of production would be about 600.000 DM - not too much for a FIA-group C sportscar (or an ex-ITC racer) but presumably too much for an engagement of Alfa Romeo.

So lets dream on!
